Forgive Forget How about forgive-and-try-to-forget-while-fooling- yourself--making-yourself-feel-bad - When I Grow Up
Forgive Forget How about forgive-and-try-to-forget-while-fooling- yourself--making-yourself-feel-bad - When I Grow Up I love my sessions with C, a soul-searching, spiritual enlightened woman who is constantly discovering who she wants to be when she grows up! And, as someone who has already gone through a coaching-like program, she teaches me something every session. Today she said, Forgiveness release is a day-to-day process. As a former grudge-holder who is sometimes unable to honestly say, Yes, I forgive you, lets move on forget about it this really spoke to me. When you think of forgiving forgetting it seems like a quick little process. Its so easily said and so harder done! It might be easy when the thing that youre forgiving/forgetting is fairly unconsequential, but what if its not? What if the actions of your best friend ripped your heart out, and you really, truly want to forgive forget even if its years later but its tough to let your guard down? If you view this, though, as a day-to-day process, you can skip the guilt trip (Why do I still feel this way? Am I not a good person for not being able to let this go like I said?) not beat yourself up for still feeling hostile/angry/resentful of what was done. At that point you can re-evaluate your feelings see if you still want to forgive forget. If so, remember that it wont happen overnight, give yourself the breathing room you need to say Fuggedaboutit and really mean it.

Identifying and Addressing Weaknesses on your Team Leads to a Stronger, More Successful Unit - Your Career Intel
Identifying and Addressing Weaknesses on your kollektiv Leads to a Stronger, More Successful Unit - Your Career IntelIts important to identify and address weaknesses in individuals in buchung to build a strong, cohesive team that can succeed.Recognizing individual strengths and weaknesses within a team helps to create balance, ultimately leading to a great, successful team. As a manager leading a team of nine, I have learned how to identify weaknesses within my team members and address them in order to build a strong, cohesive team. There are several steps you can take to identify and address weaknesses to hopefully turn them into strengths over time.Step 1 When bringing on new team members, I generally start by managing and training them in the same manner, then modify the training as we move forward based upon my observations of the individuals strengths and challenges. Each person learns differently, and it is important to adapt ones management approach in order to support the ind ividuals success.Step 2 Identify the individuals weakness, and be specific. In the recruiting industry, ansicht challenges may range from business development to technical understanding of the specific industry in which we work. In general, some of the mora common weaknesses that can show up in otherwise strong team members can be anything from lack of follow up to a team member who gets bogged down in the mundane tasks rather than dedicating the time to the strategic items on their his or her to do list. Whatever the weaknesses of the people you manage may be, understanding them and developing a strategy for overcoming them is key to combating these issues.Step 3 Address the weakness. In a constructive manner, sit down with the individual and discuss your observation of the challenge. Talk through the area in which he or she needs to improve. Provide mentoring on how to further develop work-arounds to ensure these weaknesses do notlage inhibit their day to day work, and a specific action plan he or she can follow order to further develop and eventually overcome these areas they may be falling short. Also, leverage their parteicular strengths to compensate or mitigate areas that may need improvement.Step 4 Observe how he or she reacts to and implements the direction provided. In most cases, people are able to rise to the challenge and get ahead of the learning curve. Unfortunately, in others, it may be possible that they do not possess the capability or the will to do what is necessary to overcome their challenge in order to succeed in their role. In such incidences, its important to recognize this and take appropriate action. While its difficult to make such decisions, its in the best interest of the employee and the team. After providing the individual with appropriate opportunity to improve, if improvement does not occur, it is best to let the employee move on to find the career path that is best suited to his or her skill set. It is also best for the team as a whole not to retain a significant under-performer.Overcoming a weakness often requires persistence and consistency on the part of the manager and the employee. It is extremely rewarding to see improvement over time. For instance, one recruiter on my team was very strong in developing relationships with job seekers looking for a career move, but joined the team without prior experience developing new business with clients. I worked with this individual, providing appropriate guidance. As a result of a consistent focus on coaching and strengthening this area of his daily work routine, I have seen a sustained change over time. This recruiter is now demonstrating solid movement in the right direction and has attained more balance with much stronger business development effort and results. This has not only benefited the recruiter it has also benefited our entire team.Identifying weaknesses is a skill that all managers should develop and continue to build upon in order to have a thr iving, successful team. Have you had employees who lacked a specific skill and were able to turn their weaknesses into strong suits? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The Pros And Cons Of Freelance, Remote And Part-Time Jobs
The Pros And Cons Of Freelance, Remote And Part-Time Jobs What are the pros and cons of freelancing, or parte-time, or remote jobs? At various points weve probably all wondered about what it would be like if we had a less traditional job. If youre finding yourself thinking that the grass may be greener elsewhere, we decided to peruse the experiences of others whove been down those paths and read a lot of ansprechbar stories and advice for those thinking of making the leap to a freelance, part-time or remote-working job and career. To keep things simple, we tried to summarize the main benefits and issues with these job types at the highest level possible. Of course, for every type of industry and profession, there may be nuances since a part-time attorney is not going to have an identical lifestyle and work issues as a freelance web designer.FreelancingPart-Time WorkRemote WorkProsOwn bossChoose assignmentsSet own ratesMake own hoursCut-down commuting timeFlexibilityFlexible hoursTime for work-life balanceSteady paycheckMaybe make own hoursCut-down commuting timeFlexibilitySteady paycheckConsChasing checksRequires time and energyNo benefitsLess hours means less payPossibly no or less benefitsLess face-to-face interaction, which is good for promotions, communication, etc.FreelancingProsYou are your own boss, which means you play by your own rules. Its completely true that you dont have to work with anyone you dont want to, take on any assignment that you choose. You may (and many seem to) gain a lot of control over your time, your client base, and the type of work you do. You can cut down on commute time, balance other life-priorities on an ad-hoc, or project-by-project basis which means you can also change your mind about the kind of boss you want to be.ConsIt is a lot of responsibility to essentially run a small business. Most freelancers and advice about becoming a freelancer seems to requires a lot of hustle, time and energy to earn your keep which means that be fore you are well-established, you may have to work more and have even less control of your schedule (due to client demands) than you had while employed full-time. Since youre not an employee, you will also have to pay for the benefits like healthcare or vacation or disability out of your own pocket, which is part of the expense of running a freelance business. As one freelance writer concludes Its not always simple, but the payoff is a job that I love and work-life balance that would never be possible in a traditional work arrangement. In the end, it wasnt all about passion and paychecks. However, I realized that if you have the two, it only takes a little more effort to figure out Part-Time WorkProsYou have more time for other things (whether those things are family, hobbies, other responsibilities or even other part-time jobs / entrepreneurial projects).Assuming that you are choosing to work part-time (as opposed to just taking a part-time job to get your foot in the door somewher e), the most obvious advantage to working part-time is having more time for other pursuits and interests. Many times, mothers are interested in part-time work due to the fact that they have family and care-taking responsibilities but others may be interested in part-time work so they can simply have more time for other activities (including side-projects or entrepreneurial pursuits).ConsMost employers do not offer benefits or the same job security to part-time employees and there is more uncertainty about your place at the company, in general. As Laura familienkutschederkam points out, part-time work is often stigmatized even though others say that meaningful part-time work is the holy grail of work/life balance for many women. Thats because going part-time or even requesting it may make your colleagues view you as less committed to your job. In fact, many part-timers accept less than their pro-rata reduction in pay just to compensate for the concern that they may seem less productiv e or committed. That said some women, like Anneke Van Dien, say that they never want a full-time job again. At first, she worked part-time because she simply wanted one job that paid for the bills, and another to pursue her passions. Then, she went part-time in order to save financially on child-care and to spend more time with her toddler. Its not necessarily an easy decision, but clearly one that some women make happily. New business models and companies are taking advantage of the fact that many women with children feel similarly.Remote WorkProsYou can save time and costs of commuting, work more flexibly in many remote jobs, and you can choose to work in many different environments and locations that might suit your personality and personal life needs.Technology has made it more likely than ever that many knowledge-based work can be done remotely. Sure, you cant be a remote waitress or doctor but for many others, remote-working is a real possibility for their role. You can save a huge amount of time and money by working remotely, and it is something that can improve your job satisfaction as well as improve your work-life balance.ConsIt may be hard to get certain types of jobs, plum projects, or promotions without the face-to-face relationship building that your traditional co-workers will receive on a daily basis. Depending on your personality, you may also miss the energy and lack of interpersonal interaction with others and you will may have to create a structure for your day and be more self-disciplined than the average bear. One fan of remote working, Brooke Tomaplatzdeckchenti is a marketing professional. Tomasetti shares her quite structured work schedule when she works remotely and points out that while she only typically works one or twos days a week from home, it makes a huge difference in her happiness and productivity. While it may seem hard to make the transition between a full-time traditional job to one that involves remote work schedules, a part -time schedule or freelancing, its certainly possible and clearly seems to be the right decision for some. The Best of Both WorldsThe best of both worlds would be to have remote part-time work or remote freelance work that you can do from anywhere. Remote part-time work might include contracted consulting, writing or social media gigs you can do from anywhere but promise some level of consistency either a few hours or a few projects at a fixed rate each week.Remote freelance work might include consulting, writing or social media gigs that arent contracted but can be done from anywhere. This means that youll have to pitch and find the work yourself, and be your own boss/set your own rates, but you can do the work from anywhere.Fairygodboss is committed to improving the workplace and lives of women.Join us by reviewing your employer
